Exploritech.com redesigns, launches Taste of Collier website
March, 2002 – The newly redesigned website for the Taste of Collier is now complete and accessible via the Internet. The web address is: www.tasteofcollier.org.
The Taste of Collier website includes applications for restaurants to showcase their most delectable dishes, and for restaurants wanting to enter the ice carving contest and the waiter/waitress race. The site also includes a photo gallery from last year’s event, and a history of the event’s winning posters.
The 19th Annual Taste of Collier will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Third Street South in Naples, on Sunday, May 5. This year, several local charities have been selected as beneficiaries of this fundraising event. In its history, the Taste of Collier has raised over $450,000 for local charities. Last year, the event attracted over 30 participating restaurants and 15,000 participants, while raising over $40,000 for local charities. The event featured two stages of live entertainment, in addition to the crowd-pleasing ice carving contest and the waiter/waitress race.
“We are excited about this year and hope to raise even more money for these charities. The tragedies of September 11 will never be forgotten, but we must also remember to give back to our local community,” said Wendy De Jonge, co-chair of Taste of Collier.
